What began as an idea to boost our local economy during the holiday season has grown into one of the Top 10 Dickens Festivals in the WORLD! Our community is incredibly proud of this beloved annual event, now entering its 22nd year. The Carlyle Dickens Village Festival is made possible through a bi-annual rummage sale, the generous support of local businesses and organizations, and an army of dedicated volunteers who help bring the charm and spirit of the Victorian era to life in the heart of Carlyle.

The first weekend in December is always a truly special time in Carlyle, and we welcome everyone to come experience the magic! As you stroll down Main Street, you’ll hear holiday music in the air, the clip-clop of horses giving carriage rides, and the cheerful voices of carolers. The streets come alive with costumed characters, twinkling lights, and the irresistible aromas drifting from our food vendors. The holiday spirit is undeniable—and it sweeps up everyone who attends.

Visitors can enjoy free horse-drawn carriage rides, free live entertainment at Fezziwig's Pub (all ages), and special free children's entertainment by Al Simmons. The weekend also includes a Festival of Trees, Breakfast with Santa (photos welcome on your phone), lighted parades, multiple trade shows, and a variety of food vendors lining Main Street. Warm up by the bonfire or at the library’s cozy warming area if the weather is chilly! Special highlights include the traditional English Tea at the United Church and Christmas at the Lake, a comedic musical presented by Cornerstone Theatre. Local retailers offer fantastic specials, and our restaurants serve up delicious meals throughout the weekend.

Carlyle is conveniently located within two hours of Regina, Brandon, Minot, and Yorkton. We offer two hotels and a charming bed & breakfast right in town, with additional accommodations just a short drive away at Bear Claw Casino and Kenosee Lake.
